photo by www.valgardena.itGardenissima is the giant slalom ski race, which takes place for the tenth time in Val Gardena on Sunday, 26th March 2006. The trace is 6 km long, starts on the peak of Seceda and ends at the bottom station of Col Raiser. It is the longer Giant Slalom in Dolomites. A great alpine ski race…



Here the rules:

-At the race there can take place skiers of every national ski team, athletes with and without FISI points (or equivalent of every state) at the minimum age of 14 years. The competitors start in pairs on parallel giant slaloms that after the first km become a unique trace.



– The race starts at 9 a.m. with gates of departure as for parallel slalom. The athletes of the ski national teams “A” will start singly every 20 seconds, the men on trace A and the women on trace B.



– The participators get classified in: athletes FIS, juniors, seniors, veterans (A1, A2, A3 and A4), pioneers (B1, B2, B3 und B4) for the men, dame (C1, C2 and C3) for the women. For the non punctuated participants there will be separate categories.



– The registrations must reach to the organisation committee within Monday, 19th March 2006, accompanied by the quota of registration of € 30,00 (thirty), the photocopy of the FISI-card (or foreign equivalent) and medical certificate of good healthiness. The o. c. reserves the right to close the registrations when the number of 500 athletes has been reached. In case of cancellation of the competition for bad weather conditions, the quota will be refunded in the measure of € 15,00 (fifteen). The participants besides the 480 (to exclusion of the athletes of World Cup), must do a competition of qualification for the last 20 places that will take place on Friday, 24th March 2006. To participate to the qualification it is necessary to pay the whole quota of registration of € 30,00 (thirty).



– The participants will have a 50% discount on the Val Garddena/Alpe di Siusi ski pass for one or two days (Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March 2006)).



– The registration gives right to the recognition of the trace (only one time), out of the gates, the day of competition from 7 to 8 a.m. The race bib will be distributed Saturday, 25th March 2006 among 4 and 7 p.m. at the Center Iman in S. Cristina. The numbers of departure are attributed inside the single categories as it follows: for the punctuated ones according to the score FISI-points and for the not punctuated according to the order of arrival (first three) of last year’s race result and registration date.



-The use of the helmet is obligatory and it can be rented at different ski rentals in Val Gardena.



– The results list will be exposed in the afternoon of Sunday, 26th March 2006 at the Center Iman, where the price-giving ceremony will take place at 3.30 p.m. You can check the registration list, the starting list and the results list also on www.valgardena.it/gardenissima.



-The athletes of national Alpine ski teams group “A” are exonerated by the payment of the quota.



– The organization committee reserves the right to change the rules if necessary for the good succeeding of the competition.



Claims: the claims must have done within an hour from the finish of the competition accompanied by a deposit of € 50,00 that won’t be returned in case of unfounded claim.



– If in a category there were not at least six participants the committee can admit they to another, also more numerous, category.



– For what not directly expressed, the organization committee will use the federal technical rules (FISI-Reglement).



– In case of bad snow conditions the competition can be moved or cancelled.



– The organization committee reserve to change single clauses up to the departure of the first competitor.



Please leave your car at the car park Saslong / Ruacia and use the Val Gardena Ronda Express to reach Col Raiser. The Iman Center is comfortably attainable afoot from there.
